What's New
New, nonsurgical treatment for Dupuytren’s Contracture

Dr. Eberhart now offers XIAFLEX treatment, a painless, non-surgical treatment for a common hand disorder that worsens over time and can cause deformity and loss of hand function in some patients.

Symptoms of Dupuytren’s Contracture include the presence of a painless nodule in the palm, which develops into a cord-like band. As the disorder progresses, the fingers curl up and are unable to be easily straightened.

Until recently, surgery was the only way to treat this often hereditary condition. A new medication called XIAFLEX offers a non-surgical alternative. XIAFLEX should be injected into the cord by a healthcare provider who is experienced in injection procedures of the hand and treating people with Dupuytren’s Contracture. XIAFLEX (the only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment option) helps “break” the cord that is causing the finger to be bent.

Dr. Eberhart, our hand specialist, is fellowship trained in hand surgery.
